Hi,
My name is Murray and I live in Ottawa, Canada. I'm hoping a knowledgeable person in your Antique Modelers Society group can help. My father was a modeler, and I'm not. I inherited a small engine when he passed away and this little gem should be back in use, or living with someone who appreciates it, not sitting in my basement! Another group has identified the engine as an Ohlson & Rice .23, likely from the 1940's.
I'm wondering is someone in your group would have an interest in acquiring this and/or could provide an estimated value for it. It has what I expect is a serial number (possibly model #?) 23268. My father was meticulous with his "toys" and it is in excellent condition.
I've attached a pic of what I have.
FYI, the email address, vintage Fleet 80, refers to the plane my father had when he died. A rare bit of Canadian aviation history, his plane appears on the Wikipedia page for Fleet 80 Canucks and was used as the data for Microsoft's flight simulator version.
Is there a newsletter or other appropriate place I could advertise this to those who understand what it it? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Murray Thorpe, vintagefleet80@gmail.com
